Not your average baby class..

Baby enjoying a baby massage class in northumberland

So, you’ve got your perfect bundle of joy, everyone’s back at work and you’re feeling a little stuck in that ‘sooo… what now?’ moment.

You want to support your baby’s development, but you’re not sure where to start and begin to second guess if you’re doing enough. To pass the time you fill your days with walks, shaking a sensory toy and watching the clock for your partner to come home.

I remember those days well with my first baby. But it doesn’t have to be that way..

Could you use a little oasis of calm in the chaos of parenting?

Each week you can expect:

  • A small, friendly class - perfect if big groups feel overwhelming.

  • A warm drink on arrival to help you relax before we start.

  • Gentle baby massage techniques to ease colic, teething, improve digestion and support sleep.

  • Simple relaxation techniques for you to breathe, reset and relieve stress.

  • Uninterrupted bonding time with your baby in a peaceful, supportive setting.

  • Free 30 minutes of sensory play for your baby after class, while you enjoy a cuppa and connect with other mums.

Picture this: you step into a warm, cosy space, greeted with a hot drink (yes, one you’ll actually get to enjoy warm!) and you're surrounded by other lovely mamas who just get it. This isn’t just another baby class — it’s a chance for you to unwind, connect and make precious memories with your little one.

A special Extra..

On the last week of the course, we’ll be joined by Sophie Dunleavy Photography, who will capture beautiful, candid moments of you and your baby. These special photographs will be available for purchase, so you can treasure and remember those first moments together for years to come.

What Will We Cover Each Week?

  • We’ll start with gentle massage techniques for your baby’s legs and feet.

These strokes are perfect for easing your baby into massage and help them feel relaxed and secure.

Massaging the legs and feet promotes healthy circulation, aids muscle tone, and supports coordination as your baby prepares for milestones like rolling, crawling, and walking.

It also stimulates sensory pathways in the brain, enhancing their body awareness and brain development.

  • This week, we’ll focus on techniques to massage your baby’s tummy and chest.

These strokes are ideal for easing colic, relieving trapped wind and improving digestion. A happy tummy means a happier, more settled baby!

These movements also activate the vagus nerve, which helps regulate stress and digestion, supporting your baby’s overall emotional and physical wellbeing.

  • Massaging your baby’s arms and hands helps develop their fine motor skills and strengthens neural connections for coordination.

These gentle movements encourage sensory exploration as your baby learns to grasp, hold and interact with the world. It’s also a soothing way to release any tension caused by overstimulation, helping your baby feel calm and secure.

  • In our final week, we’ll focus on massage techniques for your baby’s back and face.

Back massage supports posture, strengthens muscles and aids the nervous system, which plays a role in your baby’s balance and coordination as they grow.

Face massage can relieve teething pain, sinus discomfort and promote blood flow, while also enhancing sensory development.

Plus, these techniques nurture bonding as babies respond to eye contact and gentle touch on their face, building trust and emotional security.

Plus Relaxation and Wellbeing for You:
Alongside baby massage, I’ll use my skills as a trained mental health therapist to teach simple relaxation techniques to help you breathe, reset and let go of stress.

We’ll focus on supporting your mental health and wellbeing, giving you tools to manage the challenges of postpartum life. Whether it’s a few moments of calm or techniques to help you recharge, these sessions are designed to help you feel more balanced, confident, and connected to your baby.

By the end of the course, you’ll not only have a toolkit to soothe and support your baby’s development but also ways to nurture your own wellbeing - because supported Mums raise happy, healthy babies!

What if I feel nervous?

I totally understand. There have been many times where I’ve sat outside of baby groups, worrying about what to expect, what will the other Mam’s be like, what if no one talks to me, or imagining the absolute horror of my baby screaming down the place.

My classes are kept small to make them less intimidating and I promise I will do everything I can to make you feel welcome and included.

We’ll also have a group Whatsapp you can join from each course, so you can get to know the other Mam’s ahead of the first class if you’d like.

Please let me know if you feel worried about attending and I will do whatever I can to help you feel more at ease.
